Day 30 – 30 Day Transgender Challenge

The song that I am listening to while writing this post:

Listen by Sent By Ravens

Write a haiku about being trans

I am confined inside

Not as a girl, or a boy

Just a bit of both

Day 29 – 30 Day Transgender Challenge

Song that I am listening to while writing this post:

Hello Time Bomb by Matthew Good Band

Write out something positive about yourself using the letters of your name. Ex. Your name is Bob so B-Beautiful O-Outstanding B-Boy.

I have a few preferred names thta I go by, but I’ll use the name that I’ve been going by for a while.

I had to look up some words because I had thought of more negative words than positive.

Day 26 – 30 Day Transgender Challenge

Do you feel comfortable answering questions about being trans if say your teacher/friend/stranger asked you?

It depends on whether or not, the questions that are being asked are invasive or not.

Some people get offended if they are asked what body parts they have, I usually answer, depending on the source aka who’s asking.

I’ve never had a teacher ask me because I didn’t identify as Transgender when I had teachers and I usually answer friends’ questions.

Day 21 – 30 Day Transgender Challenge

Song that I am listening to while writing this post:

You Call That A Knife? This Is A Knife! by Capture The Clown

Your views on the cis-gendered community?

Cis people are cis people. I don’t like that cis people are known as ” normal ” and Transgender people and non-binary identifying individuals are seen as otherwise.

I don’t have much to say about this.

Day 20 – 30 Day Transgender Challenge

Song that I’m listening to while writing this post:

Mammoth by The Devil Wears Prada

Do you want to be a parent, why or why not?

My mind switches, sometimes I want to be, other times I don’t.

I want to atleast be stable both financially and mentally before I considering bringing a child into this world and my home.

Even if I don’t end up being in a relationship with someone, I’d like to adopt a child and raise them by myself.

I grew up being surrounded with children and I even used to be an Early Childhood Educator. I no longer work with children, but I have younger siblings.

Day 19 – 30 Day Transgender Challenge

Song that I am listening to while writing this post:

Philanthropist by The Underachievers

If you’re religious how do your views effect being trans? If you’re not religious what about your family religions?

I used to believe that I was religious because at one point I was, I just started to become lost.

I personally didn’t enjoy being told, not straight to my face by the people at church, but infront of me that being gay is wrong.

I stopped going to Church a few years ago. My parents still go and believe in God. They don’t except me being Transgender and will not support me in transitioning although I practically have been transitioning, more so emotionally.

Day 18 – 30 Day Transgender Challenge

Song that I am listening to while writing this post:

Dark Horse By Katy Perry Featuring Juicy J

How do you feel about the trans laws where you live?

To be honest, I should pay more attention to the Trans laws here in Canada.

I think I’ve been told that you can still be fired for being Trans. Don’t quote me on that though, because I’m not 100% sure.

As for transitioning, each province here in Canada differs. Some, you don’t need therapy, and others you need a psychiatrists (or a professional who can prescribe Testosterone or Estrogen) and a note before you can get top and or bottom surgery.

I read not too long ago online on some website that, Transgender surgery used to be covered but now we’re seen as having a Disability. i do have a learning disability, but I don’t believe that being Transgender is a disability.
