Cold Exhaustion

You said, it will be okay
But I needed to search the silence for its loudest parts
So I sat around spending time waiting for the moon to touch me

You said I’d be alright
But I was so quick to run to others to escape the cold front
And all I knew was to flee the moment and stumble into the night

I felt exhaustion wiping me down
But you made me smile which brushed me up
Lifted me sideways and swept the dust off my lungs
